The cost of a Korowai is determined by the size and type of feathers used. The prices below are indicative for custom made orders and are in New Zealand dollars. Custom made korowai can usually be completed within 6 - 8 weeks depending on availability of feathers.

Korowai - Small - $450 - 800
A feather cloak used as a child size full korowai, or as an adult bodice worn across one shoulder. Tends to sit at waist height. Size range 70 - 90cm wide x 60 - 70cm long.
Korowai - Medium - $995 - 1600
A medium size feather cloak that can be worn around both shoulders on a small adult, or across one shoulder on a larger person. Makes an excellent wall hanging or feather installation. Size range 85 - 95cm wide x 70 - 90cm long.

Korowai - Large - $1650 - 2400
An adult size feather cloak that can be worn around both shoulders on an average or large adult. Makes a perfect size large wall hanging or feather installation. Approximate size 100 - 120cm wide x 100 - 110cm long.

Feather Selection
Whero uses a range of feathers in various colours and lengths to make korowai. When requesting specific feathers the price of the korowai may be affected. Look at the Gallery to see what different feathers may be available. Most colours are available - please contact us for confirmation.

Warning - Beware of cheap, poorly made korowai that use glue to attach the feathers, may use imitation or synthetic feathers (which look real but aren’t), or use feathers that have not been professionally treated.
